If I get a background search done by an potential employer can I get a copy of it?
I was offered a job then the employer said they wanted to interview other people. I want to see a copy of the back ground search that was done by a outside company. How do I get that. I am Texas.

how far back can a company go to search a background check?
As far as they want/as far as records go back. In some states records are only reportable if the last date of activity is within seven years or ten years. In other states, the traffic ticket you got in 1984 when you were eighteen will show up and might be reported.
When we do our checks some of our clients only want misdemeanors and felonies within the last seven years reported, others want EVERYTHING we can find repoted back to them. It's a tossup involving which counties/states are being searched for records and what the future employer has requested.
