What would it cost to move and live in Santa Barbara CA?
I'm thinking about moving to California to launch my album and trying to decide where to a. moving My top three are San Francisco, San Diego or Santa Barbara. I will deal with independent label rock and alternative genres, so we need to live in a good place to find such talent. I probably only have $ 20,000 to start, and I need to know if this is enough? I need the pros and cons of these places: public transport, the cost of apartment rent, office space, etc?
$ 20,000 is a good start, but Santa Barbara is not cheaper end of the cities of Cali and make sure you have ensured a good job before you move. Public transit is pretty decent. Depending where you are, you may not even have to worry too much. I swear by this site rent down, check the prices. Santa Barbara is a party scene large with many local bands that could be a good choice, but Seattle is actually one of the best places to try to succeed in the music industry. However, SB is near Los Angeles, which could give you some good connections, if you are good at networking.
