where are good places to buy a shih tzu puppy in or near New York City and North Jersy?

Ok, before people start we have tried shelters, we have been to the ASPCA countless times, we have contacted local shelters, searched petfinder.com, adopt-a-pet.com, craigslist and shih tzu rescues as far away as ohio. we just adopted a kitten from our local shelter. but while you can walk in and get a cat it seems that with dogs unless i want a pitbull or pitbull mix i wont find anything right now. plus i was insulted by the last rescue saying they we were bad parents because our 10 week old kitten is not fixed (nevermind the vet WONT do it because he is 10 week old)...

so yeah, places to buy a shih tzu puppy (NOT tea cups) in the NYC area.
as stated, i have already been to the ASPCA,

MUST be good with kids, we dont have any, but all of our friends have at least one child. a puppy under one year of age is ideal. yes s/he must be good with cats and other dogs.
zip is 10001

There are hundreds if not thousands of good people in pet rescue, but there are always a few that give the rest a bad name.

To find a respectable breeder, start here:

What is the name of the workers who work under New York City & are important to keep the city running?

I remember about 5 years ago something on these works who go deep underground and is basically mining? or something which keeps one factor of living maintained (i thought it was electricity or sewerage?)

I've searched and found "The Mole People" but they're homeless people and is not the workers I'm after. The job is generally passed down through the family because it's a dangerous job but holds a respective title.

The dangers being that they no doubt will lose their hearing or sight...

Any information welcome. Even if you think it's from a story? a book etc .. But I'm pretty sure it was on TV..

It's true, they build tunnels under New York City, they're called Sand Hogs or Sandhogs. The job is a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
