what is the procedure when entering a jail as a prisoner?
I'm 23 year old female I have a warrant out for me for failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance. I'm going to turn myself in at the police station.
what should I take with me?
is there anyway of me getting home arrest?
will I have to be searched? how is this done?
any one ever worked at a female prison or been a inmate any advice is appreciated.
I live in Florida and have been to court before but only got probation and fines and yes I am still on probation for 7 more months?

I'm not sure if you'll be able to get home arrest, but you should ask them if it's possible.
You will be strip searched upon entry. You'll be told to strip. Once naked an officer will search you, part of it you will run your hands thoroughly through your hair. Open your mouth as wide as you can and lift your tongue, pull your ears forward so they can check behind them and lift your arms, expose your armpits. Then you'll be told to spread your legs apart, squat three times and cough.
Being in jail is tough. You're under constant survilence, in jail there is zero privacy. You're told when to wake up, when to eat, when to sleep, and you're always being watched. Just keep your head down, and follow the rules they tend to be very strict in there. Try to stay calm, and be careful who you trust. Don't get involved in arguements. And though it doesn't need to be said, the food in their is awful.
And a note on a above answer. Rape can happen, but it doesn't happen as often as most people believe. Also it's less likely to happen in jail, than actual prison. It has never happened to me, and neither have I ever seen it happen.

Sarasota, FL-- Smuggling items into jail went to a new level recently in Florida. Jailers said they know from time to time those incarcerated use a natural body cavity to smuggle items, but they were blown away by what they found 'inside' an inmate recently.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune reported that Neil Lansing, 33 was sentenced to jail on drug charges. However, his strip search had officers scratching their head after someone noticed something sticking out of Lansing's rear end during the routine check.
What they saw was a condom and after removing it, they discovered many more items. Would you believe, Investigators said they also retrieved from Lansing's anus: 17 blue pills, 1 cigarette, 6 matches, a flint, a syringe, lip balm, a CVS receipt and a coupon.
Deputies told the paper that Lansing now faces additional charges of drug possession and smuggling contraband into a jail.
I have heard of people making an *** of themselves, but that is ridiculous, and does not sit well.
