I understand the importance of visibility. As a small business owner, be "known" can be the difference between a steady flow of income or closing its doors. However, being visible is not enough. Being remembered is important and means that occupy some prime properties in someone's mind. Getting "part of mind "means that somewhere in the way that shows his character and competence and became unforgettable.
Marketing, by definition, is the creation of an environment of change. For an individual, that could mean the exchange of letters of reference, speaking positively on its behalf, a promotion or an introduction. Branding, by definition, is an emotion or an image linked to a product. YOU are the product. Even in business, people are the brand and define the company, rather than any simple mission statement hanging in the lobby. So how does an individual create "buzz" of your brand more visibility and important to take into account so that you can develop your credibility?
1. Know what makes you unique.
Whether you're looking for work or who want a board director position, you need confidence to know what value it brings to the table.
2. Get good at communicating what makes you valuable.
Ninety three per cent of communication is the tone and body language. Spend time in words so that what you say and how you communicate are congruent with their value. However, know that the communication includes the image, the way you present yourself, your workspace, your skills and even the label lunches. They should all be consistent with what makes you valuable. Any discrepancies will jeopardize its credibility and could result in negative word of mouth, which is a problem which I shall future articles.
3. Manage the communication.
If you are creating a "buzz" around your brand, you will need to proactive management of the communication. For example, if you're new to a company or a position where you have to build a wall of credibility. Yes, a physical fence if possible. It shows each plate, certificate, honor, service, licensing, certification and the degree you received. This wall is a visual testimony of third parties in the character and competence of your brand. Since that wall can not travel with you, make sure that every time it is an honor for volunteer service or approved by a contribution that a copy of "thank you" letter, a note or a card that is placed in the personnel file.
Even if you're on your own, these "test of credibility "tools you very far. As vice president of a fraternity in college business, I booked speakers to talk to our Brotherhood for professional development. I asked each to write a letter to me about his experience working with me so I could include that in my personal file. Many of these speakers went on to become regional managers, operation directors, CFOs, company presidents and also my portfolio has become very valuable. Actively "buzz" your brand! Make the development of credibility, credibility will lead to the influence and the influence of lead for leadership.
